The college was started since 1961 having completed 55 years of valuable service; the college now offers degree programmes in 14 subjects in B.A. B. Sc. The college is geographically located in the rural area and majority of the students have poor economical background. Keeping in view the low academic base and poor economic level, the college plans to organize more remedial coaching classes for the deficient students. Keeping pace with the modern times, we plan to collaborate with industries and lay more emphasis on extension activities. Our future planning includes preparing students for the competitive exams, making each and every student tech savvy, organizing campus placements, activating research work in the college, organizing more women-centric programmes, involving students in more social activities to make them socially committed and responsible citizens. We desire to provide more facilities to the students and improve the infrastructure in the college for which it is necessary to mobilize resources.
The students of this college are disciplined and dedicated in their respective fields like study, sports, social services etc. Our students have represented at the zonal level as well as National competitions and bagged medals and trophies in various events on the basis of their disciplined & dedicated efforts and continuous support and motivation from teachers. The NCC and the NSS units have been performing their functions efficiently. The college has a unit of NSS comprising of 100 volunteers who are dedicated towards social service. There is one unit of NCC comprising of 80 students as cadets and they have been performing well.
